Suzie is a sweet, happy, 4-year-old Miniature Labradoodle.

Suzie loves cuddles and is willing to learn new things. Suzie loves humans but does need time to accept other dogs. She is wary of dogs she has just met until she knows they are no threat to her and they will leave her alone. Her reaction to being approached is to go for the other dog. This is defensive behaviour, as once she has accepted them, she is happy to live alongside them, although she prefers not to interact with them. Acceptance happens within a couple of days, as long as she can avoid being too close to other dogs in the home. Otherwise, she is a very easygoing dog and absolutely no problem to live with.

Suzie needs a quiet, stress-free home where she can relax without too much going on. She tends to take herself off to her bed if dogs around her are playful. She is currently happy with her fosterer's laid-back dog.

Suzie would be ideal for someone who is housebound with no doggy visitors. She would love humans visiting, but her comfort zone is home, and she is not the type of dog who enjoys being taken out in busy areas. A home with a large garden to run around in would be ideal for her.

Suzie was diagnosed with IMHA (Immune Mediated Haemolytic Anaemia) when she was young and spent some time at vets requiring a blood transfusion. After that, she was on medication for a few months, but it was gradually tapered off, and she is no longer on any medication. We have had her spayed and vaccinated, and she had no reactions to the operation or the vaccinations. This indicates that she is now a healthy dog and the IMHA was probably caused by a virus. However, anyone adopting her must be aware that, at some point, the IMHA may reoccur (although extremely unlikely), and she may need further blood transfusions and/or medication. This should be considered before applying to adopt her, as insurance will not be available for this condition.

Considering the amount of love and joy you will get from her, Suzie's issues are minor. She is a lovely girl and deserves the very best home where she can chill out in her own space.

Suzie is being fostered in Dumfries and Galloway.

Please complete our adoption enquiry form if you could offer Suzie the home she deserves.
