Oreo is a four-year-old Cockapoo. He came in due to his behaviour changing towards the other dog and humans in the house after the introduction of a new baby.
In adult-only foster, he loves a cuddle and will cosy up on the sofa. He likes to be close to you, follows the daily chores, and waits for his next walk, taking naps and visits to the garden in between. He currently has two 45-minute walks daily, but has boundless energy so could do more. Oreo sleeps well and is full of beans in the morning. After his daytime exploits and a final visit to the garden, he goes to bed in his crate. He also travels in his crate.
Oreo is a very vocal boy and will bark at dogs and people when he first meets them, but is fine once properly introduced. He can, however, be a bit domineering over other dogs and will guard his food from them. When on a walk he pulls like a train and is very excited. When walked alone he is much better. He still pulls but will walk to heel with guidance, so has the potential to improve. His recall depends on his selective hearing. So far he has only been allowed to run on a long line.
Oreo is housetrained and will ring a bell on a ribbon to let you know if he needs to go out. He has been left for up to three hours, but he can be destructive when left and will chew anything that comes to hand, although he does not touch furniture. He has chewed his blanket and toys.
Oreo will need to visit the groomer every 8 weeks and will need daily brushing, which he enjoys.
Oreo is looking for an owner who will understand his signals and body language, and who won't baby him. He likes to be the boss and will take advantage if he is allowed to, so he will need firm boundaries in place. He may be suitable for children over 12 as long as they understand his needs. In the right home, Oreo will flourish and be a happy and contented dog. Oreo would be happiest as an only dog in the home. Can you offer him that home?

Oreo is being fostered in West Lothian.

Please complete our adoption enquiry form if you could offer Oreo the home he deserves.

N.B. All our dogs are neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. We also offer rescue backup for the lifetime of the dog.
