Molly
Status: Available
Sproodle • Female • 5 years • 14" to the shoulder
Molly is a loving little dog. She is chocolate brown, with a coat more descriptive of a Spaniel. She has a Spaniel's need for stimulation, with her nose to the ground all the time she is out on walks. Molly is very excited when first out on a lead, and will pull, but she is better on the return trip. She has tolerated wearing a Halti, which has helped with pulling on the lead and encouraged a calmer walk by your side.
Molly loves routine, loves her food, and racing around a field. However, Molly is highly reactive to other dogs. She has improved considerably, especially if she is praised when staying calm whilst passing other dogs and given a treat when she has been good, but she remains UNPREDICTABLE. With a ball outside, she will ignore other dogs, most of the time. She has good recall most of the time and will come to a whistle. Molly cannot be trusted indoors with other dogs and will attack if given the chance, so it will take a lot of work and patience to get her to accept a resident dog. She has finally accepted the fosterer's dog after two or three months of putting in a lot of work. She can be left for a couple of hours but, funnily enough, settles better when she is left with the resident dog.
Molly doesn't like being groomed but tolerates being brushed every day. Her ears do need combing every day to keep from getting knotted.
Molly is good with older children but has not been tested with under ten-year-olds.
Molly is needy and very excitable. She likes to follow you around or sit on your lap, if she is allowed, and will bark at passers-by. Molly is very eager to please, although wilful if she doesn't want to do as she is told. Generally, though she is obedient. She has a sweet, loving nature, and soaks up love and attention.
