Huey is a fabulous 6-year-old boy who will require a home with very experienced dog-savvy owners who can implement boundaries & reinforce positive behaviour. In return, you will get a very grounded furry friend. Huey has a history of being grumpy at times, and this seems to have been centred more around discomfort, such as ear infections, resulting in him growling & snapping out of fear, so he has required muzzling whilst procedures have been done. His fosterer has done a lot of work over recent weeks to desensitise him, with remarkable results, & he is now a calmer, happier boy who will allow you to check him over. Huey is currently living with four other dogs, mostly without issue. One of the fosterer's dogs is an 11-year-old Shih-Tzu who has "Napoleon Syndrome" and will goad him, which has resulted in the odd argument (no shedding of blood). Due to this, if he were to be rehomed with another dog, it would have to be with a neutered, older, larger, steady dog who would be laid back around Huey. Huey also has the usual Cockapoo resource guarding issues & has, in the past, been rewarded with treats as a swap for getting something off of him that he's tried to claim as his own. Again, with a firm "no" or "leave", this has drastically improved & he is now only rewarded for his positive behaviour, once again resulting in a calmer & happier boy. Huey has lived with older children & has met visiting children, who he has been fabulous with, but we feel that, due to his past behaviour, he would be better suited to an adult-only home, as he has snapped and made contact on one occasion (to be discussed with any potential new owner). Finishing on a positive, Huey loves to be out & about, meeting people and other four-legged friends, & has only ever shown good manners whilst in foster. He is great on the lead but can be a little eager when first stepping out. His recall is fabulous & he isn't fazed by his surroundings. He loves travelling & has even found his sea legs, making him an ideal companion for trips out & holidays away. With the right home, he will flourish even further & give somebody years of love & joy.

Huey is being fostered in County Tyrone.
