Labradoodle • Female • 8 years old • 21'' to the shoulder
Daisy came in to us after her owner could no longer cope with her. She was not used to going for walks or meeting strange dogs. Consequently, she has some issues that we have been working on which any new owner will need to continue to work on. In addition, Daisy has had Petit Mal type seizures, which seem to be stress-related. However, they have become less frequent since she has settled into our routine. Our vets are not worried about these as they are so infrequent and mild.
Overall, Daisy has a very endearing character and craves human attention. She will follow her human around from room to room and settle down to sleep wherever that may be. She does not like being completely alone but left with another dog she settles down happily and goes to sleep. She happily sleeps in her bed with our dog throughout the night and she is delighted to see you in the morning but is still having to learn not to jump up with excitement. Due to this, we feel that she would only be suited to older children in her new home.
Daisy goes out to the garden every couple of hours to relieve herself but she has not yet worked out how to ask to go out. She has learned to play with our dog and they have one or two spontaneous sessions each day of rolling around together. Now she understands what a walk is she is delighted to have a lead on. She is a very strong dog on the lead but her behaviour has improved tremendously since we started using a figure of eight lead. She gets excited when she sees other dogs out and about, so she still needs to learn how to greet another dog in a sensible manner, but in the home, she meets and greets visitors dogs happily and soon settles down.
We are looking for an owner who will continue our work to ensure that Daisy will become a well-balanced dog who can enjoy life to the full.
Daisy is being fostered in South Glamorgan. Please do not apply for her if you can't go and see her.
