Benji is a very sweet, affectionate, loving little boy. He is happy most of the time, loves playing with his balls, loves his walks, and meeting his doggy friends. He likes nothing better than zooming about in the fields chasing his doggy pals. He's very confident, friendly, and loves meeting people. He loves his people and doesn't like to be too far from them- wherever you are he will be there too! His recall is pretty good, though if he's sniffing a particularly good smell it might take him a little time! He has learned to come to a whistle with his fosterers' dogs. He is quite needy - he sleeps very little during the day and, though he does play on his own, he will also be wanting to be involved in whatever you are doing! He has quite soft wavy fur, and doesn't seem to tangle easily, but does need regular brushing, and periodic clipping/professional grooming. Benji does have some separation anxiety and can be destructive when left, but we have taught him to use a crate and he doesn't destroy his bed when he is shut in it. We have discovered that he is very sensitive to bangs and loud noises, and this is when he bites and chews items (never humans), so any adopter would need to live very rurally with no noisy passing traffic. He is likely to suit someone who is active and will take him on lots of walks and to interesting places! In return, you will get a devoted, loving and happy companion.
